Dedicated Streetwear Added To Stitch

Switch, a dedicated streetwear area will be launched by Stitch, the dedicated menswear trade show to its spring/summer 2013 edition in July. The new platform will provide streetwear brands an opportunity to showcase alongside prominent menswear fashion labels, such as Crooks & Castles, The Hundreds, Abandon Ship, and Rook.

Apart from the new launch, Stitch has also successful moved to its new venue of the Business Design Centre in Islington, and the July show will also include other experiential elements including a barbershop, Dj’s, live music artists and a tattoo parlour.

As the recent years have seen a great rise in demand for premium streetwear in the UK, this kindof of platform just accelerates its market penetration. Many of these brands have grown through their online presence, numerous social media channels and word of mouth but to share such a platform with already established brands, this is truly some kindof development.

The spring/summer 2013 edition will run at the Business Design Centre in Islington from July 15-16.

Laetitia Casta Covers Vogue Paris May 2012

Vogue Paris which loves to celebrate French beauty roped another one for their May 2012 issue. French model and actress Laetitia Casta gets a spread where she showcases her success as a model but dedicated to her skill as an actress. The beautiful model best known for being the GUESS? Jean Girl in 1993 graced the cover of Vogue Paris May 2012. Shot in lens by Mario Testino, Laetita shows off a cat-eye look in a simple white ensemble for this flawless, minimalist cover shot.

Casta, has just starred in four films; one being Les adorés, which Mario Testino’s Vogue Paris shoot specifically plays to. Les adorés is a film adaptation of the book Severe by Régis Jauffret, the real life-inspired story of a wealthy banker murdered (in strange sexual circumstances) by his mistress. The darkly seductive styling by Emmanuelle Alt makes more sense in light of this, as does the inclusion of props like black veils and a gleaming kitchen knife. As always Alt’s biggest strength lies in the use of androgynous looks with tailoring and tuxedos lending a mildly masculine power play to Casta’s character.
